Who am I as leader?

By December 22, 2011 - 4:03pm

Who I am as a leader is defined by my ability to determine my priorities. I value disciple, focus, and structure in terms of goals and objectives. My approach to accomplishing missions is systematic and clearly defined. I am extremely reserved in terms of my personal life. I find it successful to distinguish and separate both social and work environments.
I am focused, disciplined, achiever, deliberative, and consistent. I have a clear understanding of who I am as person and am never shocked out the outcomes. In terms of focus, I typically do document my goals and create action plans into how to achieve them. I believe that by creating short term plans I can reach my long term goals. I am diligent and persistent; this distinguishes me.
When I think of the word discipline I believe it’s a must in everyday life. Instinctively, I aim to finish tasks before they are due. Having a detailed game plan and implementing it with precision frees me and allows me to produce desired outcomes again and again. I am very attentive to all the aspects and details of my environments. I have always been commended for doing what needs to be done on time and in accordance with established rules and processes. I despise individuals who constantly operate in a crisis mode. Predictability, consistency, and structure, all require discipline, of which I consider to have.
As an achiever I am driven to new projects with ease and enthusiasm. The opportunity to do something better, more perfectly, or more completely than it has ever been done before motivates me to higher levels of excellence. I always aim to overcome my limits and fix mistakes. My success depends on being able to achieve and supersede milestones. I am always eager to learn and grow.
Deliberative is a term I don’t often use but true for me. I present myself as an earnest and dignified individual. Because of my strengths, I only divulge my innermost thoughts and feelings to a small, close-knit circle of confidants. With great caution, I expose beliefs, fears, hopes, desires, failures, worries, dreams, or personal history. I consider all circumstances and possible consequences about what I reveal. Once again I work diligently to separate my private life from my public life. I avoid discussing personal problems, successes, finances, work, or history. I select my friends with great care. The quality of my relationships is much more important than the number of people who I am actually friends with.
I am very consistent in who I am. I am driven by structure and frequently outline how to perform repetitious tasks the same way each time. I prefer to work with individuals who grasp the need for consistency and uniformity from one day, week, month, or year to the next. I complete whatever I start. Generally I eliminate surprises and increase predictability. I have rules that bring structure and order to my personal and professional existence.
My peers have always seen me as a disciplined and focused person. Those who know me as Airborne Katy always refer to me as being tough. I take pride when they say that to me even though I never tell them it boost my ego, I tell them, I’m just me; no one else.
