Seven Things Women Need to Invest In

By November 6, 2015 - 11:28pm

As a woman, what things are worth the most to you? In this world dominated by the opposite sex, women need to amp up their game in order to get the best things in life. This means you have to spend on important things so that you can also benefit from them.

Apart from your family and children, here are the seven things you should invest in.

1. Health

Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent forms of cancer in the world. In the US alone, 12% of all adult women are at risk of this disease. This only means that your health is top priority. Even if you aren’t at risk of breast cancer, other illnesses that plague the female gender such as renal infections and autoimmune disorders still need to be prevented.

Take care of your body by investing in healthy food, well-deserved time off work, and exercise. A gym membership or some exercise equipment would be great long-term investments. If you want to take it to the next level, hire a personal trainer so that you will have professional guidance in maintaining your shape.

2. Makeup

The value of makeup isn’t just based on physical appearance or vanity. It’s also about a woman’s confidence and impression. Not only do you look more professional when you wear proper makeup, but you also exude confidence and determination. Women should wear makeup to enhance their assets, and the best way to do this is by using natural-colored cosmetics that complement your skin tone.

In terms of investment, good quality makeup doesn’t only affect your looks, but also your health. Don’t buy cheap makeup, particularly the generic ones that may be made from China. Many unbranded makeup products have toxic ingredients that can be harmful to the health.

3. Skin care

Again, some people may think that skin care products are just for vanity. However, if you don’t make a good investment on your skin care solutions, you might end up with worse conditions. Cheap skin care products also contain harmful chemicals which are linked to various disease like cancer.

You should only buy branded skin care products from reputable manufacturers. Better yet, use organic products which have natural ingredients and no artificial additives.

4. Jewelry

If you think that you should be waiting for men to buy you the bling, think again. Jewelry is one of the most valuable investments you can make in your lifetime. Like real estate, the value of precious elements increases over the years. When you need extra money for important matters such as health concerns, your children’s education, or debt problems, pawning or selling your jewelry can be an easy fix.

When buying jewelry , you must be very careful. Only buy from reputable merchants and always check the items for genuineness. If you can ask the help of a professional jewelry appraiser, you will have a better chance of getting a high-value item for a reasonable price.

5. Shoes

Another item in this list that may seem materialistic are shoes, or footwear. Although it may sound funny to buy expensive footwear, it makes a lot of sense health-wise. First of all, poorly fitting shoes have been found to affect the health in various ways. Second, if you want to look fierce, you need to be confident with your footwear!

You don’t need to buy shoes worth thousands (unless you can afford it). You just need to choose your shoes wisely and don’t pick the cheapest items in the shelf.

6. Bags

Are bags also health-related? Probably, probably not. But your bag is your personal buddy and all-around companion. It carries all of your valuables, and it’s a perfect match to your outfit. Buying designer bags will make you feel good about yourself and show you where your hard-earned money is going. You don’t need to buy all the bags in a boutique. Just invest in a few good bags that will serve you a lifetime.

7. Career

You might ask, how can you invest in your career? Isn’t it investment enough that you’re spending 40 hours a week in your job? There are plenty of ways to better yourself and increase your professional expertise. Join trainings and seminars, enrol in continuing education, and explore further opportunities related to your field. The best form of investment is starting your very own business, regardless if it’s connected to your profession.

There are plenty of ways to spend your money, but spending it on things that you truly love and cherish will make the expenditures more worthwhile. Making these investments don’t mean you’re materialistic or vain, but rather careful and thoughtful about your health and overall wellness. Remember, physical health isn’t the only form of health you should think of. You also need mental, psychological, emotional, and spiritual health to grow and prosper.
