User Review: Makita BL1815 vs Dyson Battery – My Honest Thoughts
I’ve been using both Makita tools and a Dyson vacuum for a while now, so thought I’d share my experience with their batteries.
Makita BL1815 battery – This one’s solid for small jobs. It’s lightweight, charges pretty fast (about 15-20 mins on my charger), and works great for things like drilling or screwing stuff around the house. It doesn’t last super long since it’s only 1.5Ah, but for quick fixes or lighter tasks, it’s perfect. Plus, it makes the tool feel lighter, which is nice if you’re working overhead.
Dyson Battery – I use it in my Dyson V8, and it’s been decent. It gives me about 20–30 mins of use depending on the power setting. On max mode, it drains fast, but that’s expected. After about 2 years, I had to replace it, but that seems normal for vacuum batteries.
Overall, both do their job. Makita feels a bit more rugged, while Dyson batteries are more about convenience. Just make sure you’re buying the genuine ones – I tried a cheap Dyson knockoff once and it didn’t last a month!
