Dr. Tommy Rhee: A New Chapter in Women’s Wellness and Regenerative Health

By March 29, 2026 - 12:14am

All over the world, women are starting to redefine wellness into more than just fitness and symptom management, but about quality of life, empowerment, and access to solutions that honor them as a whole.

It is within this landscape that Dr. Tommy Rhee, a clinician, author and innovator has expanded his work into the regenerative wellness realm, as a response to those women who are looking for better access to healing, recovery, and long-term health.

Dr. Rhee, the founder and CEO of RheeGen®, has spent decades in chiropractic care, elite sports medicine, and, more recently, pioneering topical regenerative therapies that have been designed to be safer, more accessible, and empowering for women of all activity levels and lifestyles.

We sat down with Dr. Rhee to talk about how his approach to regenerative medicine intersects with women’s health and empowerment.

From Performance Medicine to Everyday Wellness

Dr. Rhee’s journey into regenerative medicine didn’t begin in a biotech lab. It started in the trenches of sports medicine, treating elite athletes, including Olympic competitors and NFL players, and quickly evolved into something bigger.

“I’ve always believed healing should fit into life, not derail it,” Dr. Rhee says. “Especially for women who juggle careers, families, and physical wellness, the idea of long, invasive recovery periods just isn’t realistic. People don’t have time to be sidelined.”

With this philosophy in mind, Dr, Rhee developed RheeGen®, the world’s first cell-free topical regenerative therapy. This therapy uses biomolecules that have been derived from human mesenchymal stem cells. Perhaps more importantly, this can be delivered through the skin, meaning no live cells, no injections, and no downtime.

“Regenerative healing shouldn’t be intimidating or costly,” he explains. “It should be something you can integrate into your daily routine—much like brushing your teeth or taking a vitamin.”

Why Women’s Wellness Matters in Regenerative Care

Regenerative medicine often place more focus on athletes and injury recovery, however, Dr, Rhee has seen the benefits that is adds to everyday wellness. This is especially true when it comes to women who often experience chronic discomfort, mobility limitations, hormonal changes, or age-related shifts in musculoskeletal health.

“Women live with a unique set of biological challenges,” Dr. Rhee notes. “From pregnancy-related joint shifts, repetitive stress from caregiving tasks, or long-term mobility changes after menopause. These are not ‘athlete issues,’ but human issues. And they need solutions that support resilience, not side effects or downtime.”

Dr. Rhee likens topical regenerative care to giving the body the signals it already uses to heal, but in a way that’s accessible, repeatable, and above all, empowering.

“Women are often the health leaders in their families,” he says. “If they have a tool that helps them recover faster, move more freely, and maintain quality of life without injections or procedures—that ripple effect benefits entire households.”

Accessible Wellness: A Core Part of Empowerment

Dr Rhee believes that access, education, and empowerment can help women make informed choices about their bodies and wellness journeys. His work aligns with this vision as it offers an expansion on how women can participate in their own healing.

“Regenerative medicine doesn’t have to be exclusive,” Dr. Rhee asserts. “It shouldn’t be locked behind specialized clinics or high-cost procedures. When people understand how their bodies heal, and when they have tools that fit into everyday life, empowerment naturally follows.”

Real Stories, Real Healing

Though the language of regenerative science can sound technical, Dr. Rhee prefers to ground it in real outcomes.

“One of my first big moments with topical regenerative care was when a professional athlete was facing a career-threatening injury and refused the usual needle-based therapies because of the downtime,” he recalls. “Instead, we used a topical formulation. He recovered fully, finished his season, and never missed a game. That was the kind of practical result that proves this method isn’t just scientific—it’s life-changing.”

These outcomes are not only for elite competitors, but they are also for women who are juggling their careers, children, and daily activities while also trying to stay healthy and boost their confidence.

Empowering Women Through Knowledge

Dr. Rhee believes empowerment begins with education:

“Knowledge is the first step toward confidence,” Dr. Rhee says. “If a woman understands what regenerative signaling is, how the body naturally repairs itself, and how topical therapies can support that process, she becomes an active partner in her own wellness—not a passive recipient of care.”

In addition to education, he also places emphasis on a holistic view of wellness, noting that recovery doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Nutrition, movement, stress management, emotional support, and community are all intertwined, which is why accessibility to low-barrier therapies are so important.

“When we make wellness attainable, we remove barriers that often hold women back—fear, cost, recovery time, or lack of understanding,” he explains.

Looking Ahead: Inclusive Regenerative Wellness

As regenerative medicine advances, Dr. Rhee sees a future where it supports women of all ages, and from all walks of life - from pregnancy-related recovery to chronic discomfort, and mobility treatment in later years.

“We’re just scratching the surface,” he says. “This field isn’t about science fiction. It’s about real bodies, real challenges, and real lives. It’s about giving women the freedom to move, to function, and to live fully,” he concludes. “That’s empowerment in its most physical form.”

Dr. Tommy Rhee is the founder of RheeGen® and a developer of cell-free regenerative medicine technologies focused on precision biological signaling.

Before pioneering non-invasive regenerative platforms, Dr. Rhee built his reputation in elite sports performance, serving as Team Chiropractor for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and working within the athletic department at University of California, Los Angeles. His clinical work with high-performance athletes shaped his understanding of tissue recovery, load management, and biological adaptation under extreme demand.

Recognizing the limitations and risks of injection-based stem cell therapies, Dr. Rhee engineered a topical, cell-free regenerative system designed to support the body’s own repair signaling without live cells or invasive procedures. Today, his work represents a shift in regenerative medicine — moving from transplantation toward precision activation.
