Hi, I’m Bailey Mosier. This is your EmpowHER HER Daily Dose.
Good morning sunshine! Has it ever occurred to you that morning people seem more chipper than night owls? A new study suggests morning people aren’t only happy in the a.m., they’re happier and more satisfied with life overall.

In a study published in the journal Emotion, researchers studied two populations: a group of 435 adults and found morning-type people tended to feel healthier than night owls. Evening people may be more prone to social jet lag; meaning that their biological clock is out of sync with the social clock, because social expectations are far more organized around a morning-type person's schedule.

Ways to boost your happiness? Change your sleep schedule to turn yourself into a morning person. Wake up earlier and go to bed earlier. If you can, have a consistent schedule to make sure you are waking up at the same time every day.

That wraps up your EmpowHER HER Daily Dose. Join me here at EmpowHER.com every weekday for your next dose of women’s health.

I am such a morning person, I could not agree more with this tip..although I tend to need a quick power nap every so often, being a Morning Person makes for such a successful day...

I am also a morning person. I am in my mid 40's and I have been living with this since my early 20's. Most times it is a wonderful thing because while everyone is sleeping in on the weekends, I can get things organized for the weekend--shopping, cleaning, walking the dogs, cleaning out the car. However, I burn out in the early evenings. Its tough so I too, need a power nap once in a while. I do get compliments from people who claim I never have a bad day. By the way, I am caffeine and newspaper free. I maintain a healthy routine of going to the YMCA, walking, and bicycling.
