i am a postmenopausal woman under 60 years old who was diagnosed three years ago with a rare vascular condition. The major symptoms include arthritis, skin lesions in the genital area and throughout the body, uveitis, lung and central nervous involvement, chronic pain, fever and eventually blindness or stroke. I am often overtaken by weakness , drowsiness, and pain. I see a rheumatologist for doses of Humira, which seems to help. Watching my diet, light exercise, and keeping up with tests and drs' appointments, helps. So does attending a support group. Comments or similar stories, anyone? GRETA P.

Dear Anon,
Thank you for sharing your story with us. Taking medication as prescribed by your doctor, combined with diet, exercise, and support from others can definitely help with chronic conditions and illnesses. I wish you continued success in managing this disease and I hope the EmpowHER community can help as well.
Best,
Helena
