Today's conventional toilet cleaners from the supermarket usually contain toxic chemicals that can cause health problems. In addition, many chemical substances in the cleaning agents are anything but environmentally friendly, get into the water and then have to be thoroughly neutralized in the wastewater treatment plants. There are healthy and environmentally friendly cleaners in the organic market or online bio-trading. However, you can also make a safe toilet cleaner very well. We'll show you how.
Create a toilet cleaner yourself
Ingredients for your toilet cleaner
½ cup of soda
½ cup of citric acid
½ cup cornstarch
Water in a spray bottle
Zip bag, big enough for 4 liters
25 drops of essential oil of your choice
Large closable glass
Casting mold
As a mold for your toilet cleaner you can use different shapes. Also greased muffin baking molds are very good.
It is open to you which essential oil you want to use. Lemon oil, lavender oil, peppermint oil, tea tree oil, rosemary oil or eucalyptus oil are particularly suitable for the natural toilet cleaner.
Preparation of your toilet cleaner
Put the soda, the citric acid and the corn starch into the zip bag and close it. Mix the mixture well and smoothly by kneading the bag with your hands.
Open the bag, spray two or three times, and close the bag again before kneading well again. Repeat this step a few more times. The process is then terminated as soon as the mass has assumed a uniform consistency.
If the bag expands and it looks as if it is bursting, let some air out.
Add the essential oil and mix again.
When the mass has a good consistency, enter it into the casting mold.
Let the mass in the casting mold dry for one or two days. Then remove the mass from the mold. If it is still somewhat brittle, allow the mass outside the mold to dry for a few more days until it is hard.
Place the mass in the glass for storage and close it.
Essential oils are unstable. If your natural toilet cleaner loses the fragrance after some time, just add a few drops of oil into the glass.
Use of your toilet cleaner
For cleaning, place your natural toilet cleaner in the toilet and wait until the hissing has stopped. The essential oils, the soda and the citric acid are free with the hissing, which has a special deodorizing and purifying effect.
After that you only need to rinse and you are ready!
So you see that there are very simple and natural methods to replace the harmful chemical products. Use your self-made toilet cleaner to protect your health and especially the environment!
