My mother was recently diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome and not only does she have sores in her mouth that have not gone away for over 2.5 years she has blood in her urine on and off. She has had her bladder checked and they found nothing wrong.
She can go for several days and as much as two weeks with just a small bit of blood but then she has a serious episode of blood in her urine that is quite alarming.
She is going in for surgery next week to have her kidneys checked.
Does anyone have a similar experience? She has no pain around this.
Help!

My daughter doesnt have what your mother has. But she does have blood in her urine and has had many tests and scopes with no answers after over 2 years. If after her surgery you find anything I would love to know

Thanks Shana.
July 31, 2013 - 4:18pmI will continue to look for more answers and hopefully her surgery will help her as it is very stressful as you might imagine.
Thanks for writing the post, I really appreciate it!

Hi Marta, I am so sorry to hear about your mom.
I was just reading up on Sjogren's Syndrome since I was not familiar. From what I read, it seems "blood in urine" is not a typical symptom, but some cases the autoimmune disease can affect the organs such as the lungs, liver, pancreas, thyroid and kidneys.
Hopefully, through her upcoming surgery she can determine what may be causing her to experience blood in her urine.
I also found a post on the site with a few comment threads from users who have also experienced Sjogren's. Read them here.
You could also reach out to the users who shared with specific questions by personally messaging them on the site.
I will keep both you and your mom in my thoughts.
