She had jaundice and has had her gall bladder drained. Are there any timelines related to recovery? 3-6 months?
Currently she is not in pain. But what can I expect in the near future? What if she needs her gall bladder removed? Then what?

My grandma had jaundice and her gallbladder drained but she has now been diagnosed with gallbladder cancer. I am only 14 and everyone in my family has known about it for over a week now but they didn't tell me because I had exams going on. Today my mum has told me and it feels so surreal because no one in my family has ever had cancer before. I love her to bits and I really hope she will beat it because she means everything to me.

A good friend of mine had her gall bladder removed in her early 50s, and she is fine. She is more sensitive now to rich foods and to digestive issues, however, and has to be more conscious of nutrition.
I agree with alysia, we are all individuals and there's no way to tell how any one person's treatment or recovery will go. But here's some information on gallbladder removal.
Gallbladder surgery is done under general anesthesia. While it is major surgery, the change in protocol from mostly open surgery to mostly laparoscopic surgery has made recovery smoother and shorter in length.
Here's one article explaining gallbladder removal from the American Academy of Family Physicians:

And here's an American Cancer Society article on what's new in the treatment of gallbladder cancer:

Take care, and best wishes for your grandmother. She's fortunate to have a grandson so concerned with her care.

I think your Grandmother's recovery timeline will depend upon her. This is a very serious digestive system condition and I'm sure her age and overall physical condition plus other mitigating circumstances are contributing factors to her recovery and ongoing state of health.
We're going to submit your question to our panel of medical experts for you.
