Day 5, 51% First Quarter Moon
Mood: Feeling Content
Over the past couple of days I experienced pain, fatigue and depressed moods. It was one of those dark, cold, and painful menstruations.
Interestingly, I didn’t have any premenstrual syndromes in this past cycle, so I continued on, at full speed, with Zumba dancing and all my other usual activities. I just didn’t feel the need to slow down and rest because my body was as robust and vital as ever.
Guess it was telling me otherwise. Through the pain and fatigue it communicated to me that I had stressed myself beyond what I could handle. My body needed extra time to rest and to recover.
I’m learning that pain is an important way that our body communicates with us. It’s like a “Stop” sign, sending us a signal that it’s time to pause, check in, and take care of whatever is causing it.
How do you feel today? Pause for a moment, connect with your feelings, care for yourselves, and record your journey.

Maryann, I'm the same way. Many of us are trained to push through pain, and override our body's signals. I'm learning to listen to its wisdom more and more.

I had never thought about pain as a stop sign. But, you are so right. I will continue to push myself and only will stop, when I feel pain or discomfort.
Thank you for sharing,
Maryann
