NPR has a great multimedia presentation on different countries and their approaches to healthcare. The presentation boasts a pretty cool tool that allows you to evaluate life expectancy based on country as well as percentage of GDP spent on health care. This was eye-opening for me and I encourage you to take a look. For more, visit NPR.org

Thanks for the link, Dragonfly. I am following this with great interest and NPR tends to cover it pretty well (albeit with an ever-so-slightly leftist lean!)
I try to always emphasize that universal healthcare has many road bumps and problems. I think people who are tired of the American system tend to think that universal health care is a cure-all (pardon the pun!) and it is not. However, some countries like England have a prett good system. Others do not and need a major over-haul. Comparing and contrasting is a great way to muddle through it all. This is a great educational tool.
