I underwent cryo-ablation for my fibroids on September 20th, 2008. I was wondering if anyone knows if it's okay to do sit-ups and crunches, or if I should wait.

Margarita,
Thank you for your great question. I always recommend to anyone to get your physicians ok before starting an exercise program and/or before resuming one especially after a medical procedure done (even if it's a mild one such as cryo-ablation). In regards to exercise for you, I would wait at least 2 weeks depending on your fitness level. If you exercise on a regular basis and your diet is clean, you may be able to start up after 10 days, but I would not recommend starting before then. I would also use your first week as a warm up week and use lighter weights for higher reps just to make sure you are fully recovered. I hope this helps and thank you again for your question.

Hi margarita, thanks for your post. Can't speak to these specific exercises, but you may find some helpful information in terms of recovery time on this thread --

It looks like many women have undergone the same procedure and have many interesting ideas to offer in terms of expectations for recovery.
In the meantime, I will pass this along to one of our resident health experts to find out what they have to say.
Thanks Margarita.
