ABSOLUTELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY, YESSS!!! And not only that, but the WORLD as well! In order to improve the health of every being on the face of the earth, it is going to take the efforts of passionate, caring individuals worldwide working collectively together to relieve suffering and bring peace and prosperity to the planet. Right now, much of healthcare is driven by profits, and people who are paid for the work they do. But when universal healthcare is passed, and accepted by the world at large, that burden of paying for medical services will rest with the world government. And we all know how governments like to cut corners, and save money where possible. With end-of-life decisions being made by the government to cut costs, and save resources for the ruling class, dying patients will have less and less say when it comes to preserving their life. The society at large may see weak, elderly, frail, and hopelessly sick people as an unnecessary burden on an already stressed economy, and more and more societal pressure will be applied to elderly sick patients to just hurry up and die. Their children may leave their parents to the care of the government- or push them away into a nursing home where they won't have to be "bothered" by the task of caring for their sick parents until they pass on. But there is hope! A Great hope is coming, a generation of passionate, caring people who desire to reduce suffering and alleviate the pain of others, even if there is little or no money involved. I just spoke with a young lady today at a sandwich shop who was studying Organic Chemistry at American River College. She first wanted to become a teacher, but then her dreams changed, and now she wants to become a doctor, a pediatrician to be exact, and she wants to build a hospital for children that have no money for health care. Eventually, you can see where this is going. She will need money to purchase supplies, and tools and technology, and to pay for other doctors to work with her. Enter the individual investor, or healthcare gatekeeper. Healthcare will soon become drastically divided, between Government run healthcare, and non-profit healthcare, and we all know who will win this war. The Non-profit hospital will be the way of the future. Individual investors who will fund millions and billions and trillions of dollars into helping the doctors with the vision to create their own non-profit practice. The compensation is not immediate. It comes back years down the road, after those who have been "Healed" and "Made well" by the non-profit hospitals now are living empowered lives and making a difference in the lives around them, earning wealth in the process, and giving back a portion of what they have made to the hospital or charity that made it all possible for them to have a life worth living. My Organic Chemistry friend may not get paid up front by the children's families she is helping, but in the long run, she will reap infinite returns for her goodness. And if the family with child has simply heard about her amazing hospital, and wants to pay for the improved health of their child, they can give as little or as much as they feel like giving. Donation based medicine is where we are heading. When universal healthcare eventually fails as it must, because it is based upon the existence and the function of a government that is at the core unstable, driven by greed and power, Donation based healthcare will rule the world, and the technologies will be so advanced and the knowledge so perfect, as all these non-profits will share information and technology freely with other non-profits, without fear of losing money or having a company use a process they have patented (as our current Wall Street Biopharmaceuticals do), that there will be no waiting in huge lines for heart transplants, or kidney implants. The moment that you and your doctor feel your heart is not strong enough to continue pumping blood, many other hearts, donated generously by those having passed into the next life, will be readily available through worldwide information networks that will grow showcasing the number of hearts available at what locations, and all the criteria to see that the hearts are a perfect match. This will be a seamless transition. Everything good about the way healthcare works will be preserved in the non-profits and eventually growth in technology will be exponential, and the time it takes between surgery and full recovery will be dramatically reduced by many orders of magnitude. The future is an exciting one, folks! Eventually, there will become a perfect health-care system for the entire world, but before that utopia takes place, there will be a lot of turmoil world-round, as the world government tries to force individuals to make decisions against their own conscience. All those caring doctors working for profit driven companies will eventually find a perfect home with the non-profits, but they will be intimidated and threatened to continue their work under Government rules and under the eye of Big Brother. The future will certainly be interesting, and perhaps very scary at times, but as a whole you can rest assured that Good ALWAYS triumphs over Evil. ALWAYS!
Until we meet again.
