Why do I get my periods for 3 weeks

Is it because my body is changing to get menopause I'm confused my mom never had this problem but she did get her out her ovaries

It's normal during the time of (peri) menopause for periods to become irregular, they may be more frequent, late, lighter, heavier. It can be different for each woman. Three weeks is a long time to bleed. I would let your doctor know about this just to be sure nothing else is going on.
