Every so often, I get these pains that shoot up from below my belly button or near the side of it. I don't really keep track of when I get them, but I think they usually come after a hard work out? I ran 2.5 mi earlier this morning. I did not do any type of hard activity when I returned back home. I am also supposed to get my period some time this weekend. Could it just be painful cramps? Maybe dehydration (It gets pretty warm in my area, and I run under the sun too)? I'm also a dancer and had a 5 hour practice 2 days ago. Maybe I'm just working myself too hard? I don't know why I get these. I've experienced them before. They sometimes hurt so much I need to stop walking. Any logical answer could really help me right now. Thank you in advance.

Hi Bri189,
Welcome to EmpowHER. Sorry you feel this way, some but not all of the causes of abdominal pain can be appendicitis, diverticulitis, colitis by stretching or distention of an organ (for example, obstruction of the intestine, blockage of a bile duct by gallstones, swelling of the liver with hepatitis), or by loss of the supply of blood to an organ such as ischemic colitis, ovarian cysts. It's important to see your doctor and explain all your symptoms. He might suggest imaging test to be done, in order to know the cause of your pain.
Best,
Daisy
