Hi Anon!

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland doesn't produce enough of certain important hormones.

Hypothyroidism is the opposite of hyperthyroidism – or overactive thyroid – a condition in which the thyroid gland makes too much thyroxine.

I included a link to an article from the EmpowHER community that has all the potential causes for hypothyroidism. Please check it out. https://www.empowher.com/hypothyroidism/content/hypothyroidism-about-underactive-thyroid

Anon, was this helpful?

Best,

Kristin
