mshienie - Sometimes it takes trying several things to find what's going to work. If your dermatologist prescribed shampoo the first time and it didn't work for you there are additional options. As the link that Christine provided shows, there are several different types of shampoos as well as prescription creams.
Since you're dealing with both an itchy scalp and hair falling out you could have an underlying medical condition, and it's important to get this checked out and get the right treatment so you can find relief. I hope you will do that. Pat

Hi mshienie,
August 10, 2010 - 9:13amI'm sorry for your condition. Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER.
I have not found any information substantiating a vegetarian diet to improve dermatitis. I did find the possibility of dermatitis being (at least in part) due to yeast--in this case, limiting dairy from your diet may have beneficial effects.
I also found information about topical lotions and shampoos that a dermatologist can prescribe. Here is the information that I found. Hope it helps:

Good luck and let us know if you find anything that seems to get you results. It may take some doing to find a solution that works for you, as there typically is no "one size fits all" with conditions like this.
