Q:

What are UTI symptoms?

I had a laparoscopic total abdominal hysterectomy with bladder suspension two weeks ago. Two days ago I started feeling frequency and urgency of bladder, but no pain. Can I treat this with OTC meds or should I see a dr?

Guide

Hi, Anon.

Thank you for your post.

Symptoms of a UTI can include:

A burning feeling when you urinate.
A frequent or intense urge to urinate, even though little comes out when you do.
Pain or pressure in your back or lower abdomen.
Cloudy, dark, bloody, or strange-smelling urine.

If you think you may have an UTI, see your doctor, especially as you recently had surgery.
