I have warts between my vagina and anus and used wart magic for about 2 days, the burning sansation is out of this world. I feel I cannot handle the pain. But what i have noticed is they dried up and came off but still experience the pain where they were. AND also have burning sansation on the side of my bum. My Dr also recommended i bath with salt and warm water. What ointment or cream can I use?

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad that you sought medical attention. Continue to follow your physician's suggestions. Please speak with him/her if you should apply a cream or ointment to the area. If so, ask which brand.

Did your physician identify the cause of the warts?

Anal warts are a condition that affects the area around and inside the anus. They may also affect the skin of the genital area. They first appear as tiny spots or growths, perhaps as small as the head of a pin, and may grow quite large and cover the entire anal area. Usually, they do not cause pain or discomfort to afflicted individuals and patients may be unaware that the warts are present. Some patients will experience symptoms, such as itching, bleeding, mucus discharge and/or a feeling of a lump or mass in the anal area.

They are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV), which is transmitted from person to person by direct contact. Of anogenital warts, 90% are caused by nononcogenic HPV types 6 or 11.

HPV is considered a sexually transmitted disease (STD). You do not have to have anal intercourse to develop anal warts.

Regards,
Maryann
