Hi there. I'm a 21 year old woman. I was a vegetarian for years, but started eating meat occasionally for health reasons last year. Since then, I've noticed that when I eat chicken, my vaginal odor (usually very mildly scented) starts to smell like chicken (this also happens with beef/pork, though I don't eat those as much). I want to eat meat for protein now, but I don't want my boyfriend to be grossed out by my smell/taste. Why is this happening?
Has anyone else experienced this, and have you found any way to neutralize it?

Hello Anon
Thank you for writing.
This is normal. The food we eat is eliminated in urine, fecal matter, sweat and other body fluids- and our breath.
From advice from many readers who have a similar problem when they eat fish - consuming cranberry or lemon juice helps to eliminate any odor. Also, always wear cotton underwear (or at least the crotch of the underwear should be cotton. Wash genitals with an appropriate soap like Summer's Eve, that is gentle and Ph balanced.
