Guide

Hello. Thank you for writing today.

Numbness, burning pain or a tingling sensation in your hand or wrist that seems to increase at night can be a sign of nerve damage or irritation, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Any repetitive motions that cause significant swelling, thickening or irritation of membranes around the tendons in the carpal tunnel can result in pressure on the median nerve, disrupting the transmission of sensations from the hand up to the arm and to the central nervous system.

Tendonitis is another cause of hand or wrist pain. Tendonitis is inflammation of a tendon and is commonly seen in the wrist and fingers. When the tendons become irritated, you will experience swelling, pain, and discomfort.

See your doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment options.
