Sticky waxy skin/hair when wet

I know others have had this problem but thought I would start a new discussion.

My skin gets incredibly sticky/greasy/waxy when wet, it becoming impossible to shower, shave and wash hands etc

I’ve had it progressively for about 4 years now. I go through 4 towels to get dry after washing but my skin ends up sore also because of the sticky film. Feel it around my mouth, nose, eyes also.

Seen a dermatologist, my doctor and they just say it’s nirmal from sweat! It’s not normal, someone please help I’m in despair over it, nobody believes me either it awful.

I’m being tested for ana and ena antibodies next week to see if that’s causing a problem.

I’m going to speak with a dietician also.

There are lots of stories in there about solutions - some went vegetarian, adopted an organic, non GMO diet. Coconut oil, Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash has worked for some, and one person on Adderall came off it and their skin cleared. People have found a cure in saunas.

I do hope more people respond to your new thread to offer advice about what worked for them but I don't think you've read all the responses.
We cannot control when our threads start and stop. For most of our readers, it has been a long process with a lot of trial and error. I hope you find something that really works for you.

You may also want to consider being tested for auto-immune conditions.
