my husband and I had unprotected sex and I took an EC. 10 hours later we had sex but the condom broke. Will the EC still be effective or should I take another one?

Hello Queen79

Thank you for writing.

I assume there was ejaculation when the condom broke?

The EC should still work, if you administered it properly the first time. Read up on the side effects so you know what to expect.

Best,
Susan

I had breast tenderness for about a day but now it’s Home. I just wasn’t sure if I should take it again.

Hello again

We can't advise whether you should take another dose or not - that is up to you. But generally speaking, if sex occurs 10 hours after taking it, you should be protected.

You can take another one if you feel worried - but your side effects may be increased. Please refer to the paperwork that came with the Pill or check out the manufacturer's website to learn about the side effects.
Best,
Susan
