My son's Oncologist explained to me my son has less than 1% survival rate. My son was just put on a feeding tube yesterday. Can understand somethings however hard for him to speak cannot make out what he is saying. B/P yesterday 135/90, oxygen is ok, heart rate was 128 45 yrs of age, getting ready to find hospice. What is less than 1%?

Hello. Thank you for writing.

There is not much lower than 1%. Disease-specific survival rate refers to "the percentage of people in a study or treatment group who have not died from a specific disease in a defined period of time. The time period usually begins at the time of diagnosis or at the start of treatment and ends at the time of a patient passing.

I'm very sorry about your son.
