Pain

I have 4 living children and 1 miscarriage. Children's ages 10 6 3 and 2. When I had my last two children they told me I had cyst on my ovaries. I have not had insurance for 2 years so I have not had that looked at. When I get my period it is extremely heavy with heavy cramps plus an intense pain in my bottom left stomach. Could this be a cyst? The pain is every month without fail. I do not take birth control and have not had my tubes tied. I'm worried about the severity of the pain and that it only happens when I get my period every month on the first.

Hello Mommyto6

Thank you for writing.

Some women do get cysts every month that dissipate every month so this may be the case with you. It's generally painful but not serious. But you should be evaluated nonetheless.
Can you apply for Medicaid? If so, you can be seen for free although it may be some months.
Additionally Planned Parenthood can help on a sliding scale - you can make an appointment with them at a clinic near you.
Best,
Susan
