In 2012, after not having a period for 5 years, I started bleeding, it lasted 1 week, and it was very heavy and dark, I went to the hospital, but they said it was nothing, and I'd be fine... After that it stopped, then just 3 months ago I started bleeding again after 6 years of not having a period, I went to the local hospital and they said that I might have had Endometriosis or uterine cancer, they did ultrasound and pelvic exams, and came back with nothing, I have been on both control pills to start & regulate my period, and nothing, i just turned 40 this year, and I wonder what's going on? I do feel like I'm pregnant, but feel that's not possible, as after I had my son in 2007, I got my tubes cut & burned (tubal ligation).... So tell me what should I do? Cancer runs on both sides of my family, my mom passed on from colon cancer, 7 years ago, it was aggressive... And I had cervical cancer, stage 1 back in 2003.... Please help me understand what's going on with my body?

Hello, Maddyjo. Thank you for posting.
Even though you were checked at the local hospital (i'm assuming the ER?) it's still important to see a GYN for a thorough exam. Especially as you had cervical cancer. We would only be guessing as to what might be wrong. It might be nothing, but an evaluation is needed.
As for pregnancy, have you taken a pregnancy test? I agree that it's not likely you would be pregnant. That said, according to the American Pregnancy Association: If you have had tubal ligation surgery in the past and believe that you are currently experiencing pregnancy symptoms, talk to your healthcare provider. Although the probability of getting pregnant is very low, it is still possible.
Please update us after you see your GYN.
