Lumbar pain & urinary incontinence

I’ve had lower lumbar back pain that radiates into my hips for quite some time.
I now have urinary incontinence with loss of control. The urologist said I have OAB &. wants me to do phys therapy w/electric stimulation. When I take generic muscle relaxers my incontinence & lack of control goes away. Do I need the above phys therapy treatments?

Hello Barbara

Thank you for writing.

You're not obligated to do this physical therapy but it could enable you to be continent without medication. There's likely no harm in giving it a try, especially if your insurance covers it but the decision is yours to make.
Best,
Susan
