My mum has been diagnosed with endometrial cancer... the tumour was 1st found in a ultrasound scan. 2 1/2 weeks later she had CT scan and we were told the tumour had grown and she would have a total hysterectomy. 2 weeks later the surgeon opened her up and found that the tumour had grown through the womb and was growing outside it. However because of this and because she had radiotherapy 10 years ago for bowel cancer which has caused alot of damage, they couldnt not perform the hysterectomy. So no op, and no radiotherapy. The consult has told us that the only treatment she will have is hormone therapy. I have searched and searched the internet to find out what to expect but can find nothing that does not involve a hysterectomy as treatment.

Hi Anon,
Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.
There is no way for me to give any opinion on the progression rate of your mom's cancer, but my hope is that it is slow and that her quality of life is comfortable. Here is information that I found on Cancer.org website.
Survival by Stage of Endometrial Cancer
I hope this helps.
Take good care,
