Q:

I have pain in the side of my foot about halfway between my little toe and heel. I had the same pain several years ago, got a steroid shot and the pain went away. Is there a nerve there that could get irritated occasionally?

I also have a bunion, hammer toe and Morton’s neuroma on the same foot. Could these problems cause or exacerbate the pain on the side.

Hello, Anon. Thank you for posting!

Most of the time, there is long-lasting relief after a cortisone shot, which you had for some years. A repeat shot may be needed if it's the same issue. You have a lot going on with your foot. See the doctor who treated your foot before, (or find a new one) which I'm assuming was a Podiatrist or orthopedic physician.
