Q:

I have been having 3week-1 month long periods w/ large clots. What could be causing the length and clots? Should I worry?

I'm Having Menstrual Bleeding for 3 Weeks. What's the cause?

I'm 29 yrs. old and I've been having my menstrual cycle for 3 weeks to 1 month with about a 2 week break between each period. Along with my period I have huge clots. This has been happening since I had my daughter in 2006. I saw a doctor about it and he just put me on birth control pills to try and regulate it, but that just caused me to have blood clots in my lungs. I went on Coumadin and my period was normal while I was on the meds. Now I'm off Coumadin and my period went back to being long again and with the huge clots. Is there something my doctors should be testing for? Why am I having a 3 week menstrual cycle? Can this cause complications with conceiving again? What is wrong with my cycle?

Go tell your mom to bring u to a clinic if this has been going on for acouple of months to years. I was your age and it got progresaively worse when I was 16. It was to the extent of wearing adult nappies so as not to miss school. At 16, I was sitting for my O levels, so bleeding and weak I still have to attend school. I was diagnosed with bilateral cyst on my endometrium near my fallopian tubes. Had the cysts removed a week after my o levels. Was put on birth control for about six years and monitored every four months, blood tests and scans. Then I stopped taking BC as the hospital discharged my case. Period was some what regular and not crazy heavy till recently.

I am 24 now, and was diagnosed with PCOS couple of days ago. I have been bleeding for three weeks now. First two weeks was crazy heavy. (I.E. nappies). I went to GP at end of first week, was put on NorE for five days. Period still heavy but not nappy worthy. Meds finished and I had to go ER last Monday( hourly overnight maxi pad change, fatigue, nausea etc), they put me on NorE for three weeks. So shall see how it goes. Last Friday I have been to gynae. Did ultrasound, I saw polycystic ovaries. So gynae told me to finish course of NorE. Wait for seven days before starting BC.

I am getting annoyed with this prolonged period that requires overnight maxi pad change every three hours as my skin is starting to chaff down there.

Anyway, don't be super worried and paranoid. Just go see doctor. If he or she does not take you seriously. Tell them it is affecting your daily activities.

I'm sure there isn't anything you did to cause this and your mom will probably be very understanding and concerned. The most likely cause is just a minor hormonal imbalance, however it can be a sign of more serious issues and you should talk to your mom or another adult you trust an see a physician.

I'm going though the same. I was on the depo for about a month and had a horrible reaction so I didn't take it anymore and now i am going on the 3rd week of my period. The shot has been out of my system since the end of May and I have had normal periods since then but now it's just hit me like a train. My back pain (why I did the depo in the first place) is not worse then ever. And all my doctor wants to do is put me on a new birth control. I'm am 20 years old I want kids but I don't know how much more of this pain I can bare

I am having a similar experience right now. I had a miscarriage a few months ago and ever since my periods have been heavy, painful, and unpredictable. Suddenly hitting me like a ton of bricks and bleeding through my pants in under a minute. Within an hour of so they lighten up to a more normal manageable flow but last over 10days... Currently on day 15 with this one. Worst part has been the pain. I'm 31. Even as s teenager I never had cramps this bad. I had to take 2 days off of work because the excruciating pain I was in. I called the doctor. They did an exam and blood work. Said everything looked fine and this is probably just my new normal. Told me to take ibuprofen for the pain and sent me on my way. Seriously!?!
I was taking so many ibuprofen to combat the pain that I was getting nauseous. Since the medical "professionals" don't want to help, I've taken matters into my own hands. Taking zinc and Magnesium 2-3 times a day, I have been able to manage the pain and the flow has lightens up abut. My sister asking her herbalist friend what to do and she suggested red raspberry tea or capsules. So I'm going to be grabbing some today,
Good luck ladies!

I use to have this problem but then I went to the doctor and it turns out I was my thyroid. Get your thyroid levels checked and end the suffering.

HI! I've been having an irregular period and its nearly a month now. It started from small blood then it became average and never heavy and when I thought it was going to end it bleed again and still the average. I'm in a lot of stress and I've been sleeping late and I've been taking 3 tablets of vitamins.

Can you advice me some remedies to stop this period or any irregular period that I might have?

Ps. What I mean about average is the blood only stays in the part of the pad that is directly attach to your pubic area

Thankss xoxo
