Emergency contraceptives reduce your chance of pregnancy by about 89% when they are taken as directed. Please refer to the instructions that came with your medications. Most call for taking one tablet within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse and a second tablet after 12 hours. If the directions are not followed the chance for pregnancy will increase.
