my flow has been extremely heavy and clots the size of quarters and some seem even bigger. I have never bled this long nor ever had clotting this long or this bad. I'm scared of what it could be. Day 5 today and still bleeding nonstop with extreme clotting. Any thoughts on what this could be?

Hello. Thank you for posting.

Menorrhagia is menstrual bleeding that lasts more than 7 days. It can also be bleeding that is very heavy. If you need to change your tampon or pad after less than 2 hours or you pass clots the size of a quarter or larger, this is considered heavy bleeding. If you have this type of bleeding, you should see a doctor. Causes are often hormonal, but can also be a uterine related problem, illness or other disorder.
