My bf and I had unprotected sex right atfer I just ended my period I took plan B pills and the next day I got my period again even though I just had it 3 days earlier. But now I still haven't gotten my period. Is it possible that I'm just late?

Can anyone please help me? I'm thinking I'm just going to get my period really late. Or is it possible that I am pregnant? Answers asap please.

Hello Anonymous,

Changes in your menstrual cycle are a side effect which some women experience. After taking Plan B, your period can start later than normal. Your menstrual flow can be lighter or heavier than normal.

If your symptoms persist, consult your physician.

My last period was August 10th it lasted until the 15th. Two days later I and my boyfriend had unprotected sex, as well as the next day. I wasn’t able to get plan b until 73 hours later unfortunately. I took it and everything was fine, slight discomfort but I assumed that it was normal. Sense then I has been experiencing some odd feelings. I get super lightheaded at the most random times, especially when I stand up. extremely hard stool , somewhat constipated , slight queasy feelings before and after eating ( but not every time) , gas like you wouldn’t believe but more like a bubbling pressure that was almost painful, mild lower back pain, and have been sleeping like a ROCK .I woke up this morning ( the 24th of august )and had some light brown spotting. A few moments later I went to the bathroom again and when I wiped there was browning red blood. HELP! My period shouldn’t be here for another 17 days!? What could be going on? Any response will be greatly appreciated!

Hello nessa4293,

Burning with urination can indicate a bladder infection, urinary tract infection or cystitis, which is inflammation of the bladder caused by a urinary tract infection.

Okay so after reading all these post I am a bit relief however still concerned.
I am 19 by he way. I ended my period 8/2/12. on a thursday. The saturday after that 8/4/12 i had sex w/ my boyfriend.. we used a condom about 5 mins after him bein inside me. He didnt cum inside me but he said he might have precummed in me so as a precaution i took the Plan B pill on 8/7/12. That day i was fine, but the following days 8/8- 8/12 i had the worst headaches, stomach pains, ive been needing to pee alot, & also ive been really tired. Going to bed by 8 or 9pm. Well on the 13th i had bad cramps so i went to the restroom & well started my period again even tho i had just finished about 10 days ago. I understand these are some side effects.. but it doesnt feel like a normal period, it feels diff dwn there & it kinda burns when i pee now.. can something be wrong?

Hello Anonymous,
Plan B will prevent up to 95 percent of pregnancies when taken in the first 24 hours after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.

So, you are expecting your period to start on July 29. It may be delayed or start earlier than expected. This change is the menstrual cycle is a reported side effect of Plan B.

Try to relax. High stress levels can cause a delay in the start of your period.

Hello Anonymous,

What gives is--by taking Plan B, you have upset the hormonal balance that controls your menstrual cycle. This is a side effect that some women experience. It may take a month for your menstrual cycle to return to normal.

Hello Anonymous,

If you are too young to be a parent, then maybe you are too young to be having sexual intercourse without using a more effective form of birth control than condoms.

Plan B is an emergency contraceptive and is not intended to be used as a regular method of birth control. Condoms are not 100% effective. They can tear or slip off.

You can avoid unnecessary anxiety by choosing and using some form of birth control, such as an oral contraceptive or IUD, consistently.
