My bf and I had unprotected sex right atfer I just ended my period I took plan B pills and the next day I got my period again even though I just had it 3 days earlier. But now I still haven't gotten my period. Is it possible that I'm just late?

Can anyone please help me? I'm thinking I'm just going to get my period really late. Or is it possible that I am pregnant? Answers asap please.

i had sex on 23/3 and the next morning 24/3 i took EC...so its within the 72 hours.. at exactly 7 days, i had my period for about 4 days only when my period usually last for 5-7 days. Im suppose to have my period on 12/4 normally as i have regular period according to my last period..and now its 18/4 and i haven't had my period yet.

so im suppose to expect my period on 31/4 ? putting the 4 days period that last for 4 days after EC into consideration or i could be pregnant?

Hi Anonymous,
It is not uncommon for emergency contraception to mess up your otherwise normal menstrual cycle. If you are concerned, you can take a pregnancy test to be sure. But from what I've heard, it likely is just that your cycle is different since taking emergency contraception.
For more information, please review this article: Emergency Contraception Update, 2010.

If you are experiencing bleeding for a month continuously, you need to call your doctor TODAY for a medical exam.

Please let us know that you called your doctor!

Hi,
I've had protected sex (condom) on March 18th and was expecting my period to be on April 2nd. My period came early on the 29th but only lasted about a day and a half. Should I be worried that this is implantation bleeding because my periods are usually at least 4 days in length. Further, I don't normally have cramps but this time I did.
Thanks in advance!

Anon,

Periods can last different times every month. Although your norm is 4 days, sometimes they can be shorter and sometimes they could be longer. Remember that the closer your periods are together, the less blood you'll have. Don't be surprised if you even get it again in April.

Implantation Bleeding is really a misnomer because it isn't bleeding-- it's actually more like light pink spotting. If you had what appeared to be a period that lasted a full day and a half, then this is not implantation bleeding.

I had unprotected sex 2 days after my period ended. I took the plan B pill the next morning and got my period again a couple days after taking the pill. This month, however my period has not yet come. Should I be counting days from when my first period came (before taking the pill) or when the second one came (after taking the pill)

Be sure to read the patient information pamphlet that came with your Plan B, as it should explain that a side effect is "breakthrough bleeding" or "withdrawal bleeding", as this is most likely what you experienced after taking Plan B (not another period). Plan B would not cause you to have another menstrual period, but it does cause some "breakthrough bleeding" (which is just bleeding in-between periods).

You would expect your next period between 21-35 days after your previous menstrual period (the one you had a few days before you had sex).

What Plan B also does is cause a delay in your period (I know, not the best side effect!), but it usually is only a week late or early.

Does this help answer your question?

Thank goodnes for this question - heres my story, let me know if i shoud be concerned.
I missed my Feb period (Feb 23-25 it shoud have came)
Finally got it March 13th, ended on the 18th - that night my bf and i had sex, unprotected.
I took plan B on the 19th and this morning (24th) like less than a week later i started my period, again!
Is this just a side affect? Please help!
