Hello, Anon! Thank you for your message.
Your rib cage consists of 24 ribs. Their function is to protect the organs that lie beneath them. Included on the left side is your heart, left lung, pancreas, spleen, stomach, and left kidney. When any of these organs are infected, inflamed, or injured, pain can radiate under and around the left rib cage. We cannot say what this pain might is. If these symptoms persist or worsen see your doctor. Some possible causes might be trapped gas, gastritis, kidney stones, or an enlarged spleen to name a few. Because your heart is on the left side, any unusual pain should never be ignored.
