Q:

How long is a person reasonably supposed to wait before receiving medical intervention other than unsuccessful drug treatment? My mom has done the drug route to no avail and has suffered for 2 years.

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

I am assuming that your mother is suffering with urinary incontinence.

Though I would be like to advice you and answer your question, I cannot. I do not know what medication your mother has been prescribed, the extent of her symptoms, the cause of the condition and her medical history.

I suggest you accompany your mother to her next doctor's appointment. Express your concerns with her physician. There may be HIPA issues that interfere with you discussing this with the doctor, but at least you can try.
