Q:

How to deal with toe nail fungus?

I have trimmed away the nail, and take foot baths in high quality magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts). This has improved the appearance of my feet in general but hasn't gotten rid of the fungus.

Tea tree oil is next on my list.

Any tips from fellow members?\

Thanks

Hello Sparty,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank your for asking us for suggestions on how to treat toe nail fungus.

Nail fungal infections are typically caused by a dermatophyte fungus. Yeasts and molds also can be responsible for nail fungal infections.

Treatment centers on anti-fungal medication. You can try an over-the-counter anti-fungal creams or lotions.

The most effective treatment is oral anti-fungal medications. Speak with your primary care physician about this.
