Q:

How can I manage pain with 5mm anteriolisthesis with a mild degree of spinal stenosis. Many activities activate sciatic pain and then it is difficult to know what to do to clear it up; stretching or rest.

5mm anteriolisthesis of L4 over L5 associated with facet anthropthy and ligamentum flavum thickening. Mild degree of spinal stenosis at L4/5 due to disc bulge, hypertrophic changes of the facet joints and thickening of the ligamentum flavum. Mild degree of encroachment of the subarachnoid space and neural canal by hypertropic facet joint disease.
L3/4 revealed slight degree of disc bulge of 1 or 2mm without evidence for disc herniation, foraminal narrowing or central or lateral stenosis.

Anapela,

Are you on pain medications now? Do they not help you enough?

Have you had or are you having physical therapy?

How long have you had this condition? Can you tell us how old you are, and a little bit about how severe the pain is and what treatments you have tried?
