I was diagnosed with type II diabeties 6 months ago and have not felt good since. I have high blood pressure and cholosteral problems also. In the past I have had hidden blood in my urine. Have had my kidneys tested and gone to a urologist who found nothing wrong. The urologist had my drop of a urine sample for testing every 6 months. This started 4 years ago in Arizona. Now last week started seeing gross blood in my urine went to my doctor here, she had me go for a cat scan of liver, kidneys, gall bladder. The test came back normal. She sent my urine out for culture, it also came back normal? She has no idea what the problem is.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. Blood in the urine is common with Type II diabetics. It is common to have kidney issues associated with diabetes. The kidneys are the garbage filtering system in the body and when the kidneys are diseased due to diabetes, blood tends to be focal in the urine.
You indicated that you already had a kidney function test and the results were normal. Did you try to have another one? When the kidneys begin to fail, they filtering system breaks down and causes blood in the urine. Kidney disease is very common and should not be taken as a light matter.
The first symptom of kidney disease is often fluid buildup. Other symptoms of kidney disease include loss of sleep, poor appetite, upset stomach, weakness, and difficulty concentrating.
There are steps that you can take to try and prevent kidney disease since you were just diagnosed with diabetes. Here are some things that you can do to prevent future kidney problems:

In people who already had microalbuminuria, the risk of progressing to macroalbuminuria was cut in half. Other studies have suggested that tight control can reverse microalbuminuria.
All of this information is more preventative after being diagnosed although, you really should get another opinion about your blood in your urine. I hope this information helps. Please keep us updated.
