Extreme delay in second dose of postinor

Hi i took first dose of postinor at 3am and so i was supposed to take the 2nd dose at 3pm but i forgot and took it quite late at 4am.....is it still effective or shall i take a new pack?

We have helped you on this subject a few times. Ideally, the pills should be taken as directed for best results. Did you take the second pill within the 72-hour window? If so, you should not need to take more pills. Your doctor or pharmacist can tell you more.

Postinor-2 has about an 85% chance of preventing pregnancy. If taken within 24 hours, there is a 95% chance of preventing pregnancy. If taken after 48-72 hours, there is a 58% chance. The sooner it's started the better. It should only be used for emergencies. If you don't get your next period at the expected time, test for pregnancy.
