Autism is a serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. Many experts say the bulk of the increase stems from a growing awareness of autism and changes to the condition's diagnostic criteria. According to The Autism Society - there is no known single cause for autism spectrum disorder, but it is generally accepted that it is caused by abnormalities in brain structure or function.
