Q:

Could I Be Pregnant?

On the week that I was on my period, I stopped taking my birth control (as you do). I ended my period and I had taken about 5 days worth of birth control pills when my boyfriend and I had sex and the condom broke inside of me. Weighing a day and a half to two days, I took plan B just incase. But my period came early and I’m starhing to worry if it’s implantation bleeding. Is it just nerves or should I actually be worried? Someone help pls!

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

There was no need to take emergency contraception. You are protected when you are on the inactive pills and then again when you restart the pills. You need to read the paperwork that comes with your pills to learn how they work. Your bleeding is not implantation bleeding, it's a side effect of taking EC. Keep taking your regular birth controls as usual and don't use EC again. Your cycle will regulate again within a month.
