Q:

Could I be experiencing implantation bleeding?

So I've had a confusing month and need some help! I'm on BC but may have been late on a pill in the beginning of the month but I'm not sure when. I had unprotected sex May 14,15,16,&19. On the 19th I started spotting brown and pink. I was convinced I was pregnant so I stopped taking my birth control May 21. After I stopped taking it I started bleeding very heavy so I began taking them again May 24 and the bleeding stopped May 25. I assumed I wasn't pregnant and took a test and got a BFN. It's been two weeks and AF was due three days ago. Three days ago I started having thick white discharge and last night I started lightly spotting brown. The spotting stayed brown and I'm pretty sure it has stopped. I experienced a BAD migraine the day before I began spotting, and the migraine ended around the same time the spotting started. After the migraine ended I had extreme diarrhea. I never get migraines and my diet has not changed. Could I be pregnant & experiencing implantation bleeding? Or is that impossible since I had breakthrough bleeding this month already?

Hello, Anon.

Thank you for your post.

You should not have stopped your pills unless you were sure you were pregnant.
Since you had bleeding it's unlikely you are pregnant. You say you tested as well. It's best to contact your doctor for further instructions as so many pills were missed.
