Can leaving your portable electronics near your body cause cancer?

I've heard that having your phone or computer in your lap for a long period of time could potentially lead to a greater risk of cancer. Is this true? How greatly does my risk go up? What about cell phones close to your head for long periods of time?

Hi Anon,

Thanks for your Ask.  There are study's that believe prolonged use of any device can increase your risk. While there are others that don't believe this is true.  There very little evidence to support this idea. Some also believe that the radio-frequency waves are very low, compare to those of X-rays, Ultraviolet light or gamma rays. Hope this has helped?

Best,

Daisy
