Hi, I'm 23 years old lady and I'm still a virgin. I have a bf and we've been together for more than 4 years. We never had 'real' penetration or sexual intercourse (saving it for the marriage). But today we made out and he only put his tip into me (only like half an inch to an inch) but did not cum in me. I am just a little concerned and went online to search for answers, and some people even mentioned that with what i've done, i'm actually not a virgin anymore! but no pain no blood flow happened.

Anyway, my question is, will i get pregnant this way? isit really true that if sperm was only near the vagina, i will get pregnant?

only supportive and real answers please.. i know i shud've used contraception, but it was our first time, and we didn't really planned for it to happen.

thanks..

Hi anonymous,
Was there pain with the bleeding? Your doctor may be able to help you pinpoint the cause better, but I'm wondering if it is possible that the lining of your vagina could be getting slightly torn during this sexual activity? This is not uncommon from what I've read.
In regard to your hymen, please check out this article for more information: Hymen Myths: Will Changing its Name Help?
Good luck, and let us know if you need more help.

Anon,

Sperm only survives for minutes outside of the body. If it was dry, it was no longer viable sperm. If it will give you more peace of mind, you can take an emergency contraceptive called plan B or next choice which are sold over the counter.

Hope this helps!

It is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that you would ever get pregnant, but you should not rely on the "pull and pray" method. There is still a VERY SLIGHT CHANCE due to pre-ejaculation (which MOST OFTEN does NOT ever cause pregnancy.) However, if you are really concerned you should think about using CONDOMS (which prevent pregnancy and STDs) or birth control (if you are looking to JUST prevent pregnancy.) Whatever you decide, don't worry about being pregnant because you most likely ARE NOT!

Hi Anonymous,
Anytime you have sex, you risk the potential for pregnancy. If you were concerned about pregnancy, taking the morning after pill is helpful. You may experience several months of irregular periods and this is common after taking Next Choice or Plan B.

For more information about the morning after pills, click here https://www.empowher.com/community/ask/plan-b-and-birth-control.

If you have any further concerns, you can get a pregnancy test to rest your fears. I hope this helps. Keep us posted.

Hello Missie,
Thank you for your help; I would like to clarify a few things: I do already experience irregular periods, the cycle length changes from month to month. Lately they have been arriving either within the 2 weeks following the previous end date or sometimes just under a week prior. I was supposed to get this month's period between the 7th and the end of this week, I think. Does this mean I should *expect* a period that is a week late, assuming I am to have one? If it doesn't come about in the next 7 days or so, when is the earliest I could take a pregnancy test or have a blood test done?

My boyfriend and I were messing around on saturday, and we ended up engaging in brief penetration (10 seconds, I counted)- he thinks there may have been some precum that got inside. He also had masturbated the night before, I've read that that increases the potential sperm count in precum, is that right? I took the first Next Step pill yesterday and have to take the second today, I'm very concerned since my period was supposed to come sometime later this week and I've been having low, cramp-like sensations but no bleeding. Normally pre-period cramps for me come within two days but it's been three now with no results. Also, he peed before he was inside of me, does that have any effect at all on my chances of being pregnant?
