At the ripe old age of 21, and in relatively good health, I developed a mild case of shingles within a week of getting my flu shot this year*. I'm not saying "the flu shot causes shingles", but I wouldn't be surprised if it makes one more susceptible for a short time.
*Just as a side note, I had been vaccinated last year and several years before without incident.

I just had a flu shot yesterday. When I woke up this morning I had a rash on my abdomen. I went back to where I received the flu shot (Minute Clinic) and was informed I had shingles. Never had shingles before. Seems that I am not alone in this experience. 52 year old male in good health.

This also happened to Me - I'm 26 and got offered it free at work so thought why not. 5 days later I had a painful rash on my neck and for the first time in years. It turned out to be shingles. My doctor laughed it off when I'd said I'd had the flu jab and said there would be no correlation. I'd never been I'll in my life barring the odd cold and this was my first period of time off work. I'm convinced it was that jab so I'm pleased to have found this thread

I got the flu shot last week at work advised since im a nurse. Two days later started to itch around my lower torso 4 days later found out I had Shingles. Being 23 yrs old I didnt take it lightly knowing I have developed tis after the flu with no informed consent of this correlation. I will never take it again. Ithought days like this were gone during childhood chicken pox

I too developed shingles 2 days after the the flu shot, this was in 2008 or 2009. I know it was from the vaccine. I will never be getting another flu shot! No one believed me. Now I see I am not the only one. I am a female and was 50 years old at the time of the vaccine.

Please report your shingles cases to the CDC & FDA through the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS)! It's truly the only way that the govt will take this seriously...by seeing shingles cases reported. Thank you!

I still have occasionally have pain/tenderness at the site of my shingles, and a knot is there (a nerve?) that cannot be touched without giving me the heebies & pain. My shingles happened in Fall 2009 at the age of 41, a week after the flu shot. My doctor gave me a condescending/"she's a kook" look when I suggested a link, and so does everyone I happen to mention my story to. Glad to see all the readers coming together on this website. :)

It's completely irresponsible for an MD to state it's a coincidence. Why they could claim it COULD be a coincidence, without discovering whether it was caused by the shingles shot, it is unethical for them to state that there was no cause. Like I said, I know when there is a cover-up when I see one. The cover-up by the government and medical community will continue. All you can do is protect yourself from it by refusing to be subject to this poison.

It's mandated for work.

The fact is I got a flu shot and 3 days later developed a rash that turned to a case of shingles on my left side (over the heart site).
All MD's consulted say it is a coincidence... Maybe but the worst is that at 72 it developed into PostHerpeticNauralgia and it is bothering me for the last year and may be for ever! So AVOID THE FLU VACCINE.
One possible conclusion I reached is that millions of people get the damn flu shot yearly and thousands will develop shingles anyway. So it is possible that out of those thousands some happened to take the flu shot a day or two before. Any comments, agreements??

Shingles started 8 days after receiving a flu shot, even though I got the Shingles innoculation a year and a half ago since I had shingles twice before. I didn't get the flu shot last year. I've been around long enough to know a cover-up when I see one. No more flu shots again, ever.
