Q:

Can a CSF Leak heal itself?

After a runny nose for 3 months, I was diagnosed with a CSF Leak and scheduled for endoscopic surgery. But, my nose hasn't leaked for 2 weeks and my ENT surgeon feels that the leak has healed itself. Is this possible?
THANK YOU!

They can heal on their own, and probably do in most people (that never knew they had one), but if you have a leak for over a month, your outcome will be grim without intervention, and many never get better even with intervention

Anon - The medical literature states that many cases heal on their own. Please review the following information to determine if you want to accept your doctor's view or seek a second opinion.
We wish you well.
