Hello. For you to know,
i am 20, and diagnosed with extreme hypochondria and panic disorder and therefore taking prescription meds by my psychiatrist.
This past week I have been sick: probably the common cold. Have a lot of coughing and runny nose etc.
Yesterday, due to dry weather and clogged nose my nose started bleeding a lot from one nostril.
Then, due to me trying to stop the bleed, didn’t blow my nose and then I had bloody sputum that I coughed several times.

Bloody sputum (spitting up blood or bloody mucus) can come from common forms of infection in the lungs and airways, such as acute bronchitis or pneumonia. Blood from your nose could very well drip into your throat and cause you to cough it up. Yes, bloody sputum can also be a result of lung cancer. Given your information, cancer is very unlikely. Try not to think the worst, though I know this can be difficult when you have panic issues.
If you continue to see blood in your sputum, mention it you your doctor to ease your mind. I hope you feel better soon
