Q:

brown spotting hormonal or polyp?

Is brown spotting caused by uterine polyps cyclic? I have had brown spotting for about a week and a half leading up to my period for the past six months. Saw gyno 2 months ago and felt it was hormonal. Pelvic exam and pap were normal. She put me on bc but the bc has done nothing to help the spotting. I have for the past two months started the brown spotting on the 19th day of my cycle (it is also accompanied by sore breasts for a few days.) The brown spotting leads all the way up to my period which has remained normal. I am in no pain or discomfort just this annoying brown spotting. My question is...if it's hormonal wouldn't the birth control have helped it by now (it's been two months) could it be a uterine polyp not caught on the pelvic exam? If so, do they tend to have cyclic spotting and would it cause sore breasts? I am willing to stick it out for another month (as I know it can take 3 months) but I would've thought bc would help by now. I am just getting frustrated.
