Q:

Boils on my pubic area?!

I got a boil-like bump on my pubic region a few weeks ago and it went away...then I got 3 more bump like things in the same area, and they scabbed over...and have been scabbed over for 2 weeks. Now today, 2 new large boils (?) have showed up on the opposite side. They hurt and I'm having like an epidemic! I have not had sex in almost 2 years so its not an STD.. None of them are close to the vagina, just on the skin above it. Should I be concerned? what is this? I wear tighter pants alot and I don't wear cotton underwear...could this possibly be a factor? Any tips or answers would be great. Thanks!!

Seeing your doctor is the best thing for two reasons.
1. Your "boils" may be a reaction from the Amoxicillin.
2. If you do have a secondary infection the Amoxicillin is not addressing the challenge and the doctor will want to change your script.

As a side note, when you are finished with your antibiotics a good suggestion to restore the flora in your body is drinking coconut kefir, this is a natural pro-biotic that supports the body after you have had an infection. You can usually find it at any health food store such as Whole Foods, Vitamin Cottage or Trader Vic's

Thank you! I have been taking Amoxicillan for an unrelated infection (a sinus infection) should I wait it out and see if the Amoxicillan clears is up?

You may have caused a skin irritation by wearing too tight jeans and from that, skin breakage, leaving you open to bacteria infection giving you the boil like symptoms you are experencing.

My suggestion is calling the doctor to find out exactly what the issue would be. Infections can become serious quickly if not taking care of properly.

I hope this is helpful
